Forge Valley School Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) Offer

All pupils will receive a 30 minute careers interview with Mrs Cooke, our careers advisor. Parents/carers will be invited to an interview by letter. Thursday lunchtime 'drop in' sessions are held weekly for further questions or advice. Looked after pupils and those with caring responsibilities will be offered interviews first.

In addition to this, pupils can access the brand new careers resource in the library during break, lunchtime and after school. There are an array of books covering a multitude of career paths and website links to useful information. Y11’s will use this resource during form time, as part of their UCAS Progress application.

All Y11’s have a form tutor who is fully trained in all aspects of UCAS Progress. Y11’s can also drop in to see the careers co-ordinator, Mr Crofts, for further advice and guidance on completing CV’s and personal statements.

Careers Education at Forge Valley is taught during PSHE lessons and is accessed by all learners across Y7-Y11. Pupils will be provided with information advice and guidance that is timely, progressive and supports all key transitions, including Y9 options and Y11 UCAS Progress applications.

Further, up to date information regarding our Careers Education curriculum offer, can be found in our Careers Provision section.
