In Key Stage 3, pupils will explore music from around the world, including Africa, India and Latin America and the UK. By performing, listening and composing activities, we discover how music is used to enhance film and television, and how music has developed from the 18th Century to present day.
Pupils particularly enjoy creating Christmas music and using our technology to compose their own pop songs. As well as learning to use industry standard music software (Sibelius 7 and Logic Pro 9), pupils develop skills in singing, keyboard playing, percussion including African drums, steel pans and Samba drums.
Pupils that opt for GCSE music follow the AQA course. This continues the development of performing (solo and as part of a group), composing (2 pieces) and listening.
