These units encompass a broad range of subject matter and skill development. Not all units are taught in every year.
PSHE is taught by a small and highly committed team of teachers. pupils have one lesson per week in Y7, 8 and 9. Y10 have 5 drop down days and Y11 have 2 drop down days. The focus is on evaluating attitudes, examining values, developing skills and understanding the views of others, as well as learning information about each topic.
Teaching styles are highly interactive, sometimes practical, predominantly group based and reflect our commitment to enabling all pupils to participate equally, within a safe, supportive challenging and fun environment. It is not exam based; life is the exam!
Student feedback is very enthusiastic about their experiences in PSHE and they regularly comment about how useful and relevant it is for life, both now and beyond school.
